Efficient Automation for Sustainable Building Operations

The Neufeld Haus Kiel, located in the Kiel Science Park, is a completed office and commercial building featuring a modern floor plan and a focus on energy efficiency, comfort, and reliable building operations. onework provided support through manufacturer-led planning and construction supervision, as well as the integration of smart room and building automation systems. Lighting, indoor climate, occupancy detection, shading, energy management, and central control logic were integrated into a scalable automation structure.

Thanks to onework’s automation, the Neufeld House has been technically configured to consistently integrate sustainable building operations, user comfort, and efficient control.

Challenges

Sustainable Building Operations

The building systems had to be controlled in such a way as to reduce unnecessary energy consumption and promote efficient operation.

User-Friendly Interfaces

Work and living spaces require stable conditions for lighting, indoor climate, and sun protection.

Reduction in Manual Interventions

Technical functions had to remain robust, transparent, and controllable from a central location.

Harnessing Efficiency Potential

The automation system should integrate consumption data, operating conditions, and technical functions in such a way as to enable optimizations during ongoing operations.

The Solution with onework

onework CORE

onework CORE provides the central foundation for room and building automation. Building functions, operating states, and control logic are consolidated and made transparently controllable.

Demand-Based Lighting and Room Control

Lighting and room functions respond to occupancy and environmental conditions. This reduces energy consumption while simultaneously improving comfort and usability.

Shading and Indoor Climate

Sun protection and indoor climate are intelligently coordinated. This reduces thermal loads and creates stable indoor conditions.

Energy Management

The automation system supports transparent and efficient building management. Consumption data and operational statuses are analyzed to identify opportunities for optimization.
