onework CORE

The Central Logic for Smart Building Automation

onework CORE

The smart core for
intelligent room automation.

Maximum control, minimal effort

onework CORE integrates lighting, temperature, air quality, and glare control into a coordinated room automation system. As a KNX-certified device, CORE processes information from connected sensors and controls room functions as needed. Manual override—for example, via onework TOUCH—is possible at any time.

Comfort & Efficiency

onework CORE integrates various room functions into a coordinated automation system.
This creates comfortable conditions for users while ensuring efficient building operations.

Lighting

Lighting can be switched on or off, dimmed, and adjusted as needed based on occupancy, natural light, usage, and defined scenes.

Tunable White, different brightness levels, and time-based lighting sequences can also be integrated into the room logic. This allows the lighting to automatically respond to usage and the room’s conditions without requiring constant user intervention.

Typical functions: Presence-based control, daylight control, scenes, Tunable White, and manual override.

Windows

Window statuses can be integrated into room automation and evaluated together with other room functions. For example, the system can take into account whether a window is open or closed and how this status affects heating, cooling, or other automated processes.

In combination with sensors and defined logic, unnecessary operating states can be reduced, and room comfort and energy efficiency can be enhanced.

Typical functions: Evaluatewindow contacts , adjust heating and cooling operations, link automated processes, and monitor statuses.

Windows

As part of the air quality automation system, the onework CORE controls windows, skylights with opening actuators, and dampers in smoke and heat exhaust systems (SHE). Control is via the KNX bus. For windows that do not open automatically, a prompt to manually open and close the window is displayed, for example, via the LED on a KNX pushbutton, such as our onework TOUCH.

Sun Protection & Glare Control

Venetian blinds and other shading systems can be controlled automatically based on the sun’s position, the time of day, and how the space is being used. This helps reduce glare and unwanted solar heat gain without unnecessarily blocking out natural light.

Shading can be integrated with lighting and indoor climate control. This creates coordinated sequences that promote both comfort and energy efficiency.

Typical functions: Positioning blinds, automating glare protection, accounting for the sun’s position, linking scenes, and manually overriding settings.

Indoor Climate & Air Quality

Temperature, air quality, and other relevant room conditions can be integrated into the room automation system and controlled as needed. Sensor readings form the basis for automatic responses to room occupancy and current conditions.

By linking these factors to window statuses, occupancy, and other room functions, comfort and energy usage can be better balanced.

Typical functions: controlling temperature, evaluating air quality readings, accounting for occupancy, incorporating window statuses, and linking automated sequences.

Buttons and Switchable Outlets

Through input devices, such as our onework TOUCH, end users can interact with the onework CORE to make manual adjustments and activate custom scenes. Switchable outlets can be used to integrate devices such as air purifiers.

Controls & Sensors

Sensors provide the information that CORE uses to control automatic room functions. Presence, brightness, temperature, and other conditions can be evaluated together and integrated into defined sequences.

At the same time, operation remains flexible. Users can manually adjust automatic functions as needed via onework TOUCH or other connected control elements.

Typical functions: Evaluating sensor readings, detecting presence, activating scenes, changing setpoints, and manually overriding automatic sequences.
