Efficient automation for sustainable energy management

Kiel Science Park stands for a forward-looking innovation infrastructure and sustainable location quality. Under the leadership of the management - jointly supported by the City of Kiel, Christian Albrechts University and private investors - the Science Park is committed to ensuring energy efficiency and a high quality of stay in its buildings and the neighborhood.

Thanks to onework's automation systems, the Kiel Science Park has been able to improve the quality of stay, detect malfunctions at an early stage, deal with them in good time and demonstrably reduce operating costs.

Challenges

High energy costs

Due to inefficient control of lighting and air conditioning.

Manual adjustments

Were time-consuming and error-prone.

Different users

With individual requirements for light and air quality.

Holistic approach

No cross-trade solution available on the market.

The solution with onework

onework CORE:

"onework CORE provides us with a cross-trade room automation system that allows us to operate our buildings more energy-efficiently and at the same time increase the quality of stay for our users - a real added value for commercial real estate"

The control system using onework CORE made it possible to incorporate all devices and components available in the room into the automation of light, temperature, air quality and glare protection.

Light - Human Centric Lighting (HCL):

"Lighting control is based on presence, includes daylight control and supports Human Centric Lighting (HCL) in accordance with DIN SPEC 67600 to improve performance.

Control

  • Switchable and dimmable luminaires
  • Tunable white luminaires (HCL)
  • Adjacent zones

Glare protection & energy harvesting:

"Blind control ensures a glare-free workplace with maximum visibility to the outside."

Automatic blind control can prevent glare while using solar energy to regulate the temperature.

Intelligent temperature control:

"Not only active heating and cooling systems are used to regulate the temperature, but also window and sun protection elements, which saves energy."

Smart air quality sensors:

"Air quality is regulated both by the central ventilation system and by manual and automatic window opening. Improving health and performance."
